The group is designed for those with Parkinson’s who are still able to mobilise but want to increase their activity levels. The class incorporates a circuit programme with exercises that can assist with physical difficulties associated with Parkinson’s.
Exercise is an important part of healthy living for people with Parkinson’s and a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and the ability to perform activities of daily living.
Research shows that regular exercise slows decline in quality of life so establishing early exercise habits is essential.
To help manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s, be sure your exercise program includes a few key ingredients:
1. Flexibility (stretching) exercises
2. Aerobic activity
3. Resistance training or strengthening exercises
