Chris is a graduate of Victoria University with extensive background in property and commerce. He has proven experience in strategic planning, trouble-shooting and risk assessment. Chris is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
He has been an elected member of the Board of the Laura Fergusson Trust since 1997. In 2001 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chairman in 2004. Chris was a founding Trustee of the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund and appointed Chairman in November 2006. He is also currently a member of the New Zealand Government’s Rehabilitation Services Review Board.
Dr Simon Barclay
Simon, a qualified medical practitioner, was born in London where he studied medicine. Since coming to NZ in 1979 he has worked as a GP and in the medical insurance industry. He has founded a number of companies both in the medical and non-medical fields and has been appointed to several Boards, serving as Director and Chairman. He is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
Simon was elected to the Board of Laura Fergusson in 2007 where he has made a valuable contribution from a medical and commercial perspective. Simon is Chairman of the Quality and Risk Committee and was appointed a Trustee of the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund in 2008. Simon is also the Chairman of the National Trust Board.
Richard is a law graduate of Victoria University of Wellington. After working in private legal practice for 6 years he moved to a large financial institution where he worked briefly as in-house legal counsel and then moved into front line banking.
Richard has worked in a variety of financial institutions and recently retired after 18 years with the Bank of New Zealand’s Institutional Bank. His latter roles included Head of Specialised Finance and Client Director for the Energy, Utilities & Infrastructure sector and he was at various times a member of both the BNZ Credit Risk Committee and the National Australia Group Transactional Credit Committee.
Richard was elected to the Board of Laura Fergusson in 2011.
Graeme is an Executive Director of NZ Assets Management Limited. He has been 25 years in the investment management industry following 10 years in chartered accountancy. Graeme graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University in 1973. He is an associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Graeme was appointed an independent Trustee of the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund in November 2008. His valuable expertise is an asset to the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund.
Philippa has 20 years experience in the financial markets. In 1993 she started her present business, Fairburn Investments, which manages investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and trusts.
The investment portfolios are primarily focused on direct investments in New Zealand and Australian equities, managed funds for other international equity markets, foreign exchange management, and New Zealand and Australian debt markets. However, private equity and property also feature in some portfolios.
Philippa is a Director of several investment companies and a Trustee for a number of trusts, including being a founding Trustee of the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund.
Allan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Auckland University and is a member of the Institution of Professional Engineers – New Zealand. Until recently he was the Managing Director of Stiffe Hooker Ltd, an architectural and engineering consulting practice he part-owned for 26 years.
Allan was elected to the Board of the Laura Fergusson Trust in 2005. His practical training in the engineering profession together with his experience as a consultant in the construction industry has been put to good use at Laura Fergusson. Allan was appointed a Trustee of the Joyce Fisher Endowment Fund in November 2006.
