Activities Assistant

Laura Fergusson Rehabilitation specialises in the care and rehabilitation of clients who have experienced a neurological or physical injury or are experiencing the symptoms of a deteriorating neurological disease. Our aim is to promote as much function and independence as possible, while at the same time facilitating adjustment to disability, promoting self-determination and valuing quality of life.

As part of our service, we offer daily activities that include art, cooking and computer sessions. These programmes run Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm, in our activities centre and aim to provide education and interaction opportunities for our clients.

Activities Assistants support our activities centre, Monday to Friday, 10am to 12 noon. They prepare tea and coffee, participate in arts and crafts, play board games and converse with clients. Additionally, volunteers support our clients using Facebook and Google, sending emails and with printing during the computer sessions. Activities Assistants are flexible, independent volunteers who are able to jump between tasks depending on what the day and staff require.

Our clients range from 16 to 64 years old, with the majority being over 40.
