Exciting News: LFT buys Beagle House!

Laura Fergusson Trust has brought Beagle House - a two house property with mature gardens for people leaving the spinal unit to transition at.

With five fully wheelchair-accessible rooms, along with additional spaces for carers, this home offers comfort, convenience, and opportunities to gain greater independence.

A beautiful accessible location

Located near Mt Albert, Beagle house has an amazing garden with birdlife and pukekos! Lots of spaces to meet with friends and family, have a coffee, relax, or build strength on a circuit through the grounds.

Close to cafes, parks, with motorway links nearby clients can access specialist spinal neuro rehab ten minutes away or use gym equipment in a small gym area.

Right now

We are doing some refurbishments to improve ramps, add a ramp, convert one bathroom to a wetroom, and making the kitchen fully accessible. We want to make the house as homely as possible.  We’re very grateful to Able Access, European Stone Masons, Italian Stone, for their generous support or equipment, materials, time and experts. If you would like to give any financial help or think you can help in other ways, even with being on the garden roster please contact  sallyo@lft.co.nz.

Building a Supportive Community

This transitional home will help clients gain confidence and build skills to assist their future independence.

The Board of LFT are working on other exciting initiatives to give people with physical disabilities more opportunities for independence, learning and connection.

Stay tuned for more updates.
